Bible Verse Widgets on the iPhone Lock Screen
Learn how to check for Bible verse Lock Screen widgets on iPhone, understand their space limits, and choose readable Scripture reminders.

In this article
A Lock Screen widget can put a brief Scripture reminder near the clock. Available formats depend on the installed app and iOS version, so start by checking the widget picker on your own device.
Check whether the app supports it
Home Screen support does not automatically imply Lock Screen support. Install and open the app, then look for it when customizing your Lock Screen. If it is not listed, consult the app’s current documentation rather than assuming the feature is available.
Add a supported widget
Unlock your iPhone and touch and hold the Lock Screen. Choose Customize, select the Lock Screen, and tap the widget area. Select a supported widget and finish with Done. Available space is limited; removing an existing widget may be necessary.
Apple’s widget instructions provide the current system workflow. Labels and available areas may vary with your device and software version.
Keep the passage readable
A Lock Screen has less room than a Home Screen. A short reference or excerpt may be more practical than a full passage. Avoid confusing truncated text with a complete quotation; read the full verse when you have time.
If the widget is not available
Check for an app update and confirm the feature in the app’s listing. You can still explore a Home Screen Bible widget or read daily Scripture on this website.
